What to Do in Difficult Times in Life (Malfoozat of Shaykh al-Islam Hazrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani)
It was advised that Istighfar (seeking forgiveness) is something that removes calamities and ends hardships. Today, in Pakistan, is there any Muslim who is safe from difficulties, troubles, insecurity, unrest, and the trials of conflict?
There isn’t a single person whose heart is not wounded. Due to the current state of the country, it feels as if there’s a thorn stuck in everyone’s heart.
Our respected Dr. Abdul Hai Arifi (may Allah sanctify his soul) used to say that when such situations arise, people start discussing and commenting, holding gatherings where these issues are debated. All their time is wasted in such discussions: “So-and-so said this,” or “So-and-so did that,” and the entire gathering revolves around these conversations.
Auliya ALLAH used to say, “O servants of Allah! Instead of wasting time like this, cry before Allah, plead, and seek forgiveness for your sins,
saying, ‘O Allah, this is the result of our Bad deeds, please remove these hardships from us.’
The time you waste in discussions, spend it turning towards Allah and seeking His forgiveness for your sins.
