True Comfort Through Modesty: Mufti Taqi Usmani’s Perspective on Pardah (Malfoozat of Shaykh al-Islam Hazrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani)
It was advised that women should not view purdah (modesty) as a cause of difficulty; rather, purdah is inherent in a woman’s nature.
In fact, the term “aurat” in Arabic means “something to be concealed.”
Modesty is embedded in a woman’s disposition, and while one can lose their natural inclination due to external influences, true comfort and tranquility can only be found through modesty, not in a state of openness and lack of covering. Therefore, safeguarding purdah is an essential aspect of preserving haya (modesty).
