The Urge to Do Good Deed is a gifted Guest from ALLAH: Mufti Taqi Usmani’s Guidance (Malfoozat of Shaykh al-Islam Hazrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani)
It was advised that the urge to do good deed (Amal Saaleh) is like a guest sent by Allah in heart. Show hospitality to this guest by acting on it.
For example, if you feel inclined to perform a voluntary prayer (Nafl salah) and then think, “It’s not obligatory, so there’s no harm in skipping it,” you’ve disregarded the guest Allah sent to you. If you do not act on it immediately, you may fall behind, and you may never know if that guest—the inspiration for good—will return. The guests may stop coming, thinking, “This person doesn’t heed my call or value my presence.” Consequently, the heart might stop feeling the urge to do good altogether.
While rushing in any act is generally discouraged, but acting promptly upon the inspiration to do good is beneficial.
