The Power of Two Phrases After Salah: A Saying of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA)
(Malfoozat of Shaykh al-Islam Hazrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani)
It was advised that I heard this from my Hazrat Dr. Abdul Hai Arifi (may Allah sanctify his soul).
Hazrat Arifi (may Allah sanctify his soul) used to narrate a saying of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said, “Whoever recites two phrases after Salah, Satan says, ‘He has broken my back.'” And what are those two phrases?
Alhamdulillah (All praise be to Allah) and
Astaghfirullah (I seek forgiveness from Allah).
Whoever recites these two phrases after Salah, Satan says, “He has broken my back,” meaning that the paths through which I could have led him astray have been closed by these two phrases.
