The Numerous Benefits of Supplications (Duayen) (Shaykh al-Islam Hazrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani)
It was advised that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has prescribed various supplications in the hadith, known as “Ad’iyah Ma’thurah” (authentic Sunnah supplications). Our respected elder, Hakim al-Ummah (may Allah sanctify his soul), compiled these supplications in a collection called Munaajaat-e-Maqbool. I also have a book titled Purnoor Duayen, which compiles these Masnoon (prophetic) supplications.
Many people consider these supplications as insignificant, but in reality, they are very profound. One should memorize these supplications and recite them attentively at the right times. This is a simple and easy act; it requires neither money, nor effort, nor much time, yet through it, a person can achieve great heights in Imaan. These supplications bring one closer to Allah Almighty, foster hope in Him, and strengthen one’s connection with Him.
If Muslims adopt these supplications as part of their daily routine and recite them with understanding at the right moments, their focus will shift away from creation and toward the Creator, and their hopes will become attached to Allah.
