The Best Strategy for Getting Things Done: Mufti Taqi Usmani’s Advice (Malfoozat of Shaykh al-Islam Hazrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani)
My Beloved father, Hazrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Shafi (Rahmatullah Aliahi), used to say:
“Any task postponed while waiting for the right moment often never gets done, simply because you delayed it. The best way to complete tasks is to fit one in between two others. If you’re already working on two tasks and think of a third, push that third task in between them; you’ll find it also gets done.
But if you decide to finish the first two tasks before starting the third, then the third task likely won’t happen. Making plans that “I’ll do it once I complete this other work” is usually just a form of delay. This is one of the ways Satan keeps us in a state of inaction.”*
