Save Your Imaan Until You Reach the Grave (Malfoozat of Shaykh al-Islam Hazrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani)
It was advised that a person should always remain fearful that he do not commit any act that could lead to a bad ending (Su’ul Khatima). Our respected Hazrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Hassan Amritsari (may Allah have mercy on him), who was one of the most distinguished Khalifa of Hakim al-Ummah Hazrat Thanvi (may Allah sanctify his secret), used to say (as I often heard from my Sheikh Hazrat Dr. Abdul Hai Arifi (may Allah have mercy on him)): “Save this Iman and carry it safely to the grave, for beyond that, there is only victory And Victory.”
If a person departs from this world with Imaan, they will have achieved ultimate success. But preserving faith until the end means that a person must continuously act upon the demands of Imaan and remain fearful that he do not do anything which might cause them to lose this great blessing or deprive them of the benefits of faith.
