How to Be Concerned About the Future of Your Children (Malfoozat of Shaykh al-Islam Hazrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani)
It was advised that a friend of mine once said something very meaningful, which I liked and found deeply thought-provoking.
He said, “People are often worried about what will happen to their children after they die, but they are not concerned about what will happen to their children after the children themselves die.”
It is certainly important to leave behind your family in such a way that they do not have to beg from others, but the greater concern should be for what will happen to them when they stand before Allah after their death. This is where our focus should be.
To prepare them for that moment, proper upbringing (Tarbiyah) is essential. Children should be guided on the path of faith(Iman), taught the importance of distinguishing between Halal and Haram, and given the awareness of what is permissible and impermissible in Islam.
