How Dhikr Protects from Worldly Hardships (By Sheikh-ul-Islam Hazrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, may Allah protect him)
It has been explained that engaging in the remembrance (dhikr) of Allah has a profound effect in protecting one from the hardships of this world. One of the qualities of dhikr is that the more a person engages in it, the more Allah protects them from worldly troubles, and this has been observed in reality. Those who frequently engage in dhikr generally face fewer worldly hardships.
Understand that in this world, no one is completely free from sorrow, pain, or hardship throughout their life. This world is such that it does not offer pure comfort, pure pleasure, or pure joy. There are always various causes of both ease and difficulty. Sometimes one experiences joy, and at other times, pain. There are moments of comfort, and then there are moments of distress. Sometimes there is grief, and sometimes there is happiness. Even the greatest of kings, rulers, prophets, and saints are not exempt from the hardships of this world. They all face some degree of difficulty. However, frequent dhikr of Allah significantly protects a person from worldly difficulties.
